we're doing something different
starting now
Posted Wed, 11/05/2008 - 16:46 — Brigitte DaleThe election is over! Whew - that was tense. And now, starting now, let's try to focus on what we have in common. Leave a comment about that if you'd like me to analyze your handwriting next week!

I think everyone likes getting something unexpectedly from a friend in the mailbox.
Mmmm pie. We went to a pie party the other week, savory not just sweet, and there was a blackout just on that one block of Hoboken. The Pie brought us together.
And, Brigitte, every episode is " An extra special episode", because you are a exceptionally special person. Anyone that can brighten the day of so many strangers just by talking for a moment or two on just about any subject at all, is special.
Everyone loves good samaritans
and Brigitte Dale (at least the smart ones do
One thing everyone on Earth has in common, that we can all agree on: we all love Brigitte's videos!
I voted on Tuesday, even though I had to walk a mile to the polling place (no parking nearby due to crowds) and stand in line for and hour and a half. It was good to see that much turnout on election day, even though my state went to the candidate I didn't vote for. The way things have been going, I guess we'll be starting the 2012 campaign in about 6 months.
Everyone loves fireworks.....boom........yeah!
cute shirt! Good move not telling who you voted for. This way everyone still loves you a bunch!
Hmmmm, analyze my handwriting?
Cupcakes are cool but Pie is circular perfection!
Thanks for the pie thought.. and my compliments on your pie mechanics.
I like it when clowns fall down.
Being Canadian I can't really partake in your reunify america initative.. but judging by your election voter turnout, you all already shared something pretty special beyond who won or lost.
I'll take me some of that popping bubble wrap too please.
-i hate Smurfs (sorry, aza)
-i hate vegetables (all of'em)
-i hate coffee (sorry, Teec19)
-i don't care about cupcakes (sorry, B.)
-i don't care about pies
-i like mine, but not everyone loves their mom
-i do, but not everyone believes in a higher power
-i do now, but i didn't even like nature (you know, trees and stuff) when i was a kid; i liked factories and highways
i could go on and on.. i guess apart from obvious ones like "air", or "water", it's pretty hard to find something that's common for all people ...maybe except the sadness we all felt last night to see Bush Jr. go
Maybe you think, "what a sad little man"...yet my handwriting is so playful and curly and...it's weird.
I like pie!!! What do we all have in common....
No matter the colour of the skin, we all bleed red.
We all believe in a higher power.
We all sleep.
We all eat.
We all seek love.
1. Kissing and other such activities !
2. We all hate gargamel from the smurfs.
3. Hot drinks!!!
4. Leaving work on friday
5. Presents and ripping of the wrapping
What we all have in common is our selfishness, but that´s not good. So let´s share our love with other´s. (Say to your neighbour: do you want some pie?) Start the day with a smile. Help somebody. Be grateful.
Simple things can change the life around us.
Your videos get me upside down
I'm tempted to say that we all are a little angry with Joe436 for taking so many good answers. But I could never say that.
Me and the mollusks I hang out with love it when we don't get boiled and eaten, but that's pretty specific to our ilk.
How about the smell of toast? I love the smell of toast and everyone I know loves the smell of toast. Sometimes, I'm told, you can think you're smelling it when you are having a stroke. But I'll bet it still smells good even under those unpleasant circumstances.
Elusive Snail,
Sorry, I had a longer list but I felt ten was enough for one post. And even if we're not all mollusks, I think it's safe to say we all love not getting to boiled and eaten. So your list is just as good.
Joe
Thanks Joe!
Next time you bake a pie try putting aluminum foil around just the edge of the pie. Keeps the edge soft and not browner (burnt)!
Looking at the earth from space. It looks like a big blue marble..
Have a nice day Brigitte...

Most of these comments describe what Humans have in common. But what do all Americans have in common? Only one thing: The red, white and blue Flag. That symbol is the only thing all Americans have in common.
http://mydisguises.com
Sorry,, I have to disgree with the flag thing. I've seen too many Americans burn the flag out of some kind of protest or another. If you disagree with a certain persons ideas or policies, I see no harm in burning them in effigy. But burning the flag is like burning our rights to protest anything.
Teec19, I didn't say "respecting the flag" is what we have in common. No matter how you treat the flag, it remains a symbol that only Americans have in common.

Sorry.... I make mistakes more often than I'm right. Luckily, I'm too dumb to let it bother me much.
Oh, and coffee....
I would hope that everyone enjoys waking up on a Sunday morning, knowing that they have so special resposibilities to attend to that day. A day to do things that we enjoy: Gardening, watching football, taking the dog for a romp on the beach.... the possibilities are endless...
We all love to win. It is universal. No one ever says I think I am going for second place. Even when we started using professional basketball players in the Olympics other teams would say, "we think we will give up fewer points than anyone else." When faced with insurmountable odds they still figured out a way to call it a win.

Babies, we all love babies. Babies won't select their political or religious affiliation until they are at least 4, so no worries about getting into an uncomfortable conversation about the pope or president.
Oh, and puppies and kittens or pretty much anything that is vulnerable and could be totally dependant on us. What does that say about us? I'll opt against cynicism and say its just instincts.
We all irrefutably are composed of the same basic building blocks of life.
We all enjoy some kind of food somewhere... cause, well, we need it.
We all have some kind of quirk whether we know about it or not.
Come to think of it, can you burn calories popping bubble wrap? And everybody loves exercise, it releases endorphins and makes you happy. And people like to be happy. Well, most sane people.
I'd like to be... under the sea... in an octopus's garden, in the shade.
Popping bubble wrap. I'd like to see someone try and resist that! Plus, unlike pie, it's low in calories.
I'd like to be... under the sea... in an octopus's garden, in the shade.
I'm pretty sure we all like to make match rockets, the best free thrill on the planet.
I'm pretty sure we all have a deeply held appreciation for Japanese office supplies.
Who among us, on a hot summer's day, doesn't like to sit down in a nice cold tray of peanut butter? Ahhh.....oh!
WE
Wind Energy
Two things we all have in common:
1. We all have to live on the same planet (...don't we?)
2. Deep down, we all think we're right (most of the time)
And just for good measure, a third thing we all have in common:
3. The need...the need for speed!
I can't have a link to my own website in my signature? Come on, ABC!
Here's what I think everyone has in common:
1) Everyone loves their Mom. Here's my list within a list (that proves the wide range of people who love their mom): a)some gentlemen in jail have "mom" tattooed on their arms (or wait...is that people in motorcycle gangs?), b) people in motorcycle gangs, c)athletes say: "Hi Mom" to the camera, so athletes, d) the dude from Psycho (too much), e) anyone age 1 day to 11 years old, f) Obama, g) McCain, h) me and my brother, i) birds are basically obsessed with their mom. ok...moving on....
2) Everyone has water in common. Can't live or smell good without it. Girls like to throw it in their boyfriends face (for lots of reasons). Murderers like to use it to drown their victims. Dentists use it to rinse that gross stuff after you get a cleaning. Dogs drink it and it's always hilarious when they do.
3) Everyone likes it when it rains on their enemy's picnic.
There's more but I have to go.
The End.
