Here are 10 fun facts about the doomy L.A. quartet who perform on the "Greek" season finale.

1. They call their style of music "heart quaking doom-pop."

2. Neil Popkin (vocals and rhythm guitar) founded the band with sister Becca Popkin, who plays bass. They're from Boston.

3. Though she trained as a classical pianist and plays guitar, Becca had never slung a bass before joining the band.

4. Becca's a visual artist too: Her jewelry sells in L.A. and New York; she studied painting; and she took the photo of the Continental Divide that's on their new album cover.

5. Drummer William Mohler played jazz bass and guitar before joining War Tapes, but he'd never played drums. He's from Southern California.

6. Lead guitarist Matt Bennett is from Hawaii, where he soaked up punk and shoegazer sounds.

7. They cut their new album, "The Continental Divide," in a downtown L.A. warehouse overlooking the city skyline.

8. They've toured the U.S. and U.K. with Smashing Pumpkins, Tiger Army, Shiny Toy Guns, Moving Units, the Bravery, Longwave, VNV Nation, and the Unseen.

9. They'll be touring with VNV Nation again this summer.

10. Their 2006 debut release was a live recording, and it got them played on BBC Radio 1 in the U.K., and on San Francisco's "alternative" rocker Live 105.
