The ZBZ girls "go bad" with a flashmob-style dance routine this week.

And it's seriously one of the coolest scenes we've seen on "Greek ." CRU Songfest is on, and the Zeta Beta Zetas blow away their competition with a totally unexpected song and dance routine. They even do their own rap break near the end. Check it out.

So what are they singing and dancing to? It's their take on "Good Girls Go Bad," the super-catchy lead single off "Hot Mess," Cobra Starship's third album. The "Greek" version -- with vocals by Amber Stevens and Olesya Rulin -- is the third one we know of; actress Leighton Meester does a guest vocal on the band's own version, and rapper Flo Rida did a version too.

How about a little info on the band?

In 2005, singer Gabe Saporta had left his old band, Midtown, and was chilling in the desert when a cobra bit him on the neck. (He swears this is true.) He did not die. But he had a vision. It involved dance music. Working with members of The Academy Is, Gym Class Heroes, and the Sounds, he wrote a song called "Bring It (Snakes on a Plane)." And it was on the soundtrack of that movie.

Then Gabe put out a whole album ("While the City Sleeps, We Rule the Streets") and figured it was time to form a band, so he rounded up guitarist Ryland Blackinton, bassist Alex Suarez, drummer Nate Novarro, and keytarist Victoria Asher. (Yes, a keytarist.)

They toured with Fall Out Boy. They released a second album, "¡Viva la Cobra!" They headlined. They were on the Warped Tour. They traveled the world. They got a lot of attention. Then they holed up in upstate New York, New Jersey, and L.A. to create "Hot Mess," with guitarist Ryland and bassist Alex producing and Kara DioGuardi of "American Idol" providing songwriting input.

Are Cobra Starship emo? Dance-hop? Pop-punk? Top 40 synth-pop? Yes. They embrace many things. Especially the spotlight.

What would you call them?

I thought the dance was INCREDIBLE - it was sexy without being slutty and mademe want to jump out of the crowd to join them Smiling And I hate that it was called a "rap" - it reminded me of the cheers we do at Big Ten games and not at all corny as the former name implies!
