It's true -- pop star Jesse McCartney is joining the cast of "Greek" this season.

Maybe you loved him as Bradin on "Summerland." Maybe you have one or all of his super-popular albums. Maybe you saw his amazingly dark performance as a troubled teen in the movie "Keith" ... or heard him as the voice of Theodore in "Alvin and the Chipmunks."

However you know Jesse, get ready for more, because he's joining "Greek" this season as Andy, a high school friend of Calvin's. When he shows up as a freshman at Cyprus-Rhodes, both Kappa Tau and Omega Chi decide they want him -- which leads to even more static between the frats.

Did you know? Jesse started acting when he was just 7 and was already on Broadway in "The King and I" by age 10. He's been on lots of TV shows and movies since then, from "All My Children" (way back in 1998 and ‘99) to "Law & Order" and "Tinker Bell" (as the voice of Terence).

But his music career has always been important. He scored his first platinum album at age 12 as part of the group Dream Street. By 16, he'd gone solo with the album "Beautiful Soul" (2004), and then he put out a live album in 2005 ("Live: The Beautiful Soul Tour"). He followed that with 2006's "Right Where You Want Me" and the latest, "Departure."

i love jesse mccartney ever since he started on all my children. i watch back the tapes from so long ago that my mom still has and i am like "wow this guy is awesome." i am so happy he joined greek. Jesse and Scott M Foster on the same show will just be so intense.

i think is gr8 jeeses gonna be on greek but i think that evans gonna lose his inheritance because frannie uses evans trust fund to buy gifts, and to even rent her new sorrority. When evan loses the fund frannie loses her house and class. Frannie is so percise and if u look at season 2 you'll c how she manipulates evan to fall for her, ruin Evan and Caseys friendship and how she only goes out with evan for his wallet. Overall Evans an idiot because Casey loved him and he broke up with her cause she kissed cappie. He shouldve been more forgiving like Casey. He also should have never given up on getting back with casey. Casey and Evan will get back 2gether after frannie dumps him for getting disinherrited losing her house, and Evan will get kicked out of omega chi. ZBZ will not want to mix and Frannie's sorrority will b no more. I think yall r 2 [filtered word] Evan he'll change turn into the guy Casey always wanted. I could be wrong but hats probably what will happen
