erica hubbard lights up the red carpet at the 2008 naacp theatre awards

Erica Hubbard made a splash at the NAACP Theatre Awards in Hollywood. The celeb-studded event, held on June 30 at the Kodak Theatre, was hosted by Kimberly Elise and Anthony Anderson. Usher was there. (Yep, Usher does theater too. He played Billy Flynn in "Chicago"... in Chicago!) Vivica A. Fox received the Spirit Award. And Randy Jackson accepted the Community Service Award for "American Idol Gives Back."

Our Ms. Erica was nominated for Best Supporting Actress -- Local (which means the play was produced in Los Angeles) for her role in "What Would Jesus Do?" a play about a woman dealing with HIV. She may not have taken the award (Wynter Daggs did for "Meet Me at the Oak"), but she did walk away with people's hearts. That's what happens when you rule the red carpet.
