robert adamson and erica hubbard: tense situations

The "Lincoln Heights" stars spill about their toughest scenes.

We got the chance to talk to Robert Adamson and Erica Hubbard, and they told us about the toughest scenes they've had to shoot for "Lincoln Heights."

Here's what they had to say. (BTW, they're even cooler in real life. Hard to believe, but true.)

OK, Erica's turn: "The hardest scene for me to deal with was when Lizzie was kidnapped. It was very emotional. And I remember one scene where Russell Hornsby was so intense they had to give him oxygen. When you invest that much emotion in a scene, everybody's right there with you. We were all crying. Then, most definitely, when the house [was being] broken into and the guns were being pointed at Robert and me, or I should say Charles and Cassie. It was very intense. Anytime you have guns on set and they're pointed at you, it becomes real because it looks real."

Robert agreed: "Oh, those guns are so real. They're [real] guns, and they've just been taken apart and turned into props." What about his toughest scene? "I'd say last season, talking about my stepfather being sexually abusive. That was definitely a very intense subject to take on ... I don't think that you can take on subject matter like that without being honest with it and without trying to portray something real, because if you don't, you're kind of doing it a disservice. It's such a real situation that kids go through. I'd say that was definitely the hardest experience I've had to date on the show."

Erica: "Yes, that was a hard scene. Are you going to [talk] about the scene where we were in bed and you were sweating and stuff?"

Robert: "Oh, man."

(Laughter)
