spoilers: trouble in chassieland

This week on "Lincoln Heights," Cassie takes a breather from Charles. Pardon us while we GASP!

BTW, it's Sage's idea. Hmmmmmm.

Is Sage being a good friend to Cassie? Or is she trying to break them up -- again?

Sage has a boyfriend. (Helloooo, Tad. Serge is another story: cute but dangerous.) So maybe she really is looking out for Cassie. Then again, what's with the wad of cash Sage pulls out of her purse? Is it really "guilt" money from her mom, or did she take some of the Suttons' dough when she was watching it for Charles?

Back to the breather ...

Guess royal wisdom comes with being prom queen. After all, the "breather" doesn't drive Cassie and Charles apart at all. Cassie gets pawed by Sage's friend Serge, and Charles is there when she needs him. Still, she kind of gives him the cold shoulder at the club, and then later at the Rev.

Uh-oh.

Everything changes after the Suttons learn that Nate Ray's unit has been attacked and that two American soldiers were killed. While they wait for word from the Army, Cassie calls Charles to tell him the news. He's totally sympathetic, sensitive, and loving. In a word, he's Charles. The next morning, he shows up with a box of doughnuts and a shoulder to cry on.

(FYI: Diamonds aren't the way to a woman's heart. Doughnuts are.)

Not sure if that's the end of the "breather." But we know Charles takes our breath away.
