About Finalist NJMcGee
Posted Fri, 03/14/2008 - 08:30 — Rush'dWhen he's not studying or burning up the Internets, NJMcGee (aka Nate) likes watching horror movies and listening to rock music (Avenged Sevenfold, Fall Out Boy, Eyes Catch Fire). He also digs hanging out with his frat brothers and 'the ladies of Alpha Phi.'
Nate says his hero is Jack Thaw, his high school History/Psychology teacher, because he 'taught me the true meaning of responsibility through telling about his own life experiences in a rough environment. He was one person you could rely on to hear you out and also treat you as more than a student -- a friend.'
Of all our finalists, Nate may have been the one most changed by the whole experience: 'Before, I was more on the shy side, wasn't totally crazy and outgoing. I basically led a complacent life. Virtual Rush and 'Rush'd' brought me out of my shell and let me experience new things for 10 weeks straight. It sure gave me a lot more confidence in my personal life.'
His fave challenges? 'It's a toss up of Cheerman from Week 4 and Tiki Man from Week 5. Both warm my heart.' And he also dug Miss Faye's character in Week 10.

about finalist whitecup03/21/08And we saved the winner for last. Here are a few things you might now know about Whitecup. Her mom is her hero. 'I was a difficult and inquisitive kid,' she says, and her mother 'was, and still is, incredibly patient and kind with me.' Mom is 'always giving great advice [and] ... is incredibly open-minded .... I hope that I can adopt a bit of her patience and wisdom as an adult!' |

about finalist chikappade03/19/08ChiKappaDelta (aka Jay) is the oldest of our finalists; he's been out of school a few years now and is well into his adult life. But he remains involved with his frat -- Chi Kappa Delta, of course. Instead of studying and watching TV these days, he works in advertising and -- OK, he probably still watches TV. He says his brother is his hero, because, 'He's a professional firefighter, a great father, and a great brother.' |

about finalist ivory_rock03/17/08IvoryRockstar (aka Luke) is a man of many interests: 'I have been about every major there has ever been,' he says. 'Psychology, Law, Theology, Philosophy, Coms, and pretty much everything else. But surprisingly, I'm almost done with my Psych degree.' Makes sense: His fave class was Psychology of Personality. |
