13 NIGHTS OF HALLOWEEN 2009 SCHEDULE POSTED
Posted Sat, 09/05/2009 - 08:44 — JulieRobynJHey everyone,
www.abcfamilymedianet.com has posted the schedule for 2009, and it is not looking good. Let me know what you think.

Some of these look pretty good...Hocus Pocus, Corpse Bride, Beetlejuice, Addams Family 1 and 2, Edward Scissorhands...But why play a Batman marathon on Halloween? WHAT does Batman have to do with Halloween?
I agree, Batman really doesn't seem like a Halloween movie to me.
I'm glad they're playing Hocus Pocus though, it's been a favorite Halloween movie of mine since I was little.

On the first night their playing a Halloween themed episode of American Funniest Home Videos?!?!?!?!?!?! Are you serious???? What happened to playing ACTUAL Halloween movies, instead of playing funniest home videos regardless of its Halloween theme. BRING BACK THE OLD 13 NIGHTS OF HALLOWEEN AND PLAY MOVIES ACTUALLY RELATED TO HALLOWEEN!
I for one disagree. I'm really really happy for this schedule, and why you may ask?? Because I FINALY get to see Edward Scissorhands!
And let ABC have their fun with movie choices, because there maybe some people out there who never got to see some of the movies that their playing and now are thanking GOD they finaly get to^^ But you also can have fun ranting...i'm just anime spazing then ranting^^ WHAO!!

this line up really [filtered word]!! what happended to all the good Halloween movies?? seriously!? I absolutely love Halloween and all the movies that come alone with it!! i am very disappointed.
Thanks a lot, that link worked.
With the exception of Hocus Pocus, that lineup is absolutely hideous. Someone actually gets paid to put that together? Hello marketing team, give me a job.
i dont get why people are complaining while most of us cant even see the schedule, so can someone please post the schedule on here? please and tahnks:)

Can someone PLEASE post the schedule to this thread? The link in the original post requires me to log in to see the scheduling but my regular login info does not work, and there is no where to register. It says "You have to be a registered and approved user for the ABC FamilyMedianet site." If anyone has access to it, please copy and post for everyone to see! Thanks!
Ever since fox family turned into abc family, this channel has gone down hill. The programming is awful, it shows to many ridiculous t.v shows and not enough movies, and when it does show movies it's always the same ones, over and over. I have always been a fan of the 13 days of halloween since I can remember, but over the last couple of years it has become a joke. I think it's ridiculous to have a series about teenage pregnancy and sex, but they can't have the a good halloween line-up.

Every year its the same old boring shows at the same time. Now the Scariest Places on Earth re-runs are ok. Some halloween shows have even dissapeared. I remember when this was Fox Family and they had like Are you Afraid of the dark and Goosebumps. i miss those days
I don't see the schedule at all. Can someone be a doll and send me the lineup for this year to soccerchik72@hotmail.com? Thanks so much!!
People there are some interesting shows and TV's shows for this and just because its not in the lineup there will not be shows that contain the holiday. I have learned that over the passed few years with the 25 days of Christmas special like this Halloween on they do. I have seen someone complain about American Funniest Videos on there well there was some in the passed I seen with Halloween topics so they will show that. I also can see Edward Scissiorhands on there also and Harry potter but not with Christmas.
Halloween and Christmas is for fun
I don't see the schedule @ that link that was posted.
Im so upset with this year's schedule
It must be the whole Disney corporation that is screwed up, cause I just checked out the Disney channel's Wiz-tober schedule and theirs is just as bad. Though, they have a lot more Halloween movies (thanks to the Halloweentown movies) than ABC family. What bothered me was that they have Halloween episodes of their shows like Wizards of Waverly Place and Jonus as their actual lineup, instead of movies. Does anybody remember a time when they had the Halloween episodes of shows at the time the shows aired and had MOVIES on at night? Jeesh! (
There are so many older movies that they could bring back its rediculous and they completely ignored the wants of their viewers, the reason they even have a TV channel in the first place.
My mother and I were talking about it and she brought up a very good point.
She said that now-a-days they stress so much about the importance of spending time with your family and bringing back the old tradtions of domestic life, yet they put on all these stupid shows that don't even make sense half the time and when they could do something that could bring the family together, i.e. special TV events for the holidays, they completely by pass it.

I remember when I was younger, around the holidays especially, they always had specials. Each channel would start playing episodes for halloween even though an episode may get played again another day... The two channels that I loved going to around halloween and christmas were abc family and disney. But now, they hardly show anything... for the 13 nights of halloween only shows a movie, maybe two if we're lucky... They don't even advertise it anymore that the 13 nights of halloween is coming up... I saw the line-up, and it doesn't look good... They used to show episodes of shows each day until the last day, and then at night they would show 2-4 movies... but now it's just plain... not really much to halloween on those two channels anymore...

To those who are asking where the link to the schedule is, it's in the first post.
So i already started buying my Halloween dvds....and it looks like you all should start doing the same.... i still never got a respond to my e mail i wrote like 2-3 weeks ago now so they obliviously just don't care what us viewers think... i hope they catch on and make up for it on the 25 days of Christmas..lets all hope
i saw the line up too and all i can say is..i won't be watching all except a few..i wish there was a way we could vote for which movies were in the lineup..that would be great!
W.O.W. I just saw the schedule. I don't get it. It MUST have something to do with licensing or something because SO many people giving great halloween ideas...and they are just being ignored. Something I am noticing that we are all suggesting is NOSTALGIC halloween movies and shows. I was pleased to see Hocus Pocus on the line-up. What about It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, Garfield Halloween, The Halloween that Almost Wasn't, and some old sitcoms with a halloween theme?! If this is the 13 Nights line-up, can you imagine what the 25 days of christmas line-up is going to look like??? It will be DVD's at our house definitely this year...I don't think anyone reads these posts anyway but us "fans"....
I love The Halloween that Almost Wasn't. I found it on Ebay on DVD. It also has Witches Night Out. The lineup this year is very disappointing
I, too, was happy about Hocus Pocus. That is one of my favorites. However, I agree that the line up is so disappointing and it is very, very disheartening to me that so many people take time to post such great suggestions and no one at ABC Family seems to be listening. What a shame
!
I've already posted my feelings on the 09 Schedule? board, but I will be writing in to voice my concerns. This schedule is just awful.
Everyone has really good ideas!! I haven't recieved any emails either and it really starting to make me wonder if they even care.
For those who cant seem to find the schedule, click on the link at the top of this page and just type 13 Nights of Halloween in the search box once the page comes up. I had to sort of search for it when I went to the link.

I agree with all of you. I am very disappointed with this years lineup. The only things in the lineup that are worth tuning into watch or even Halloween related are Hocus Pocus and Casper Meets Wendy. I don't understand why they aren't showing Scariest Places on Earth or It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. There are so many great Halloween specials and movies they could have chosen from. Looks like we will be watching DVD's and rented movies this year.
I wrote an e mail complaining about a week ago and they never responded...really???
where is everyone seeing the schedule for 13 Nights of Halloween? I can't find it anywhere on abcfamily.com
I can't either. where is it?!
I completely agree. What ever happened to showing real Halloween Specials like "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Borwn," "Witch's Night Out," "Garfield's Halloween," "The Worst Witch," "Dracula Saved the World," and "Mad Monster Party." I know over the years the creation of Holiday specials have really gone down hill to the point where they are non-existant but there are still specials out there to be had. "Hocus Pocus" is a great movie for the line up, and I could live with "Edward Scissor Hands" (although I think of it more as a Christmas movie) and "The Haunted Mansion" but come on. I remember when ABC used to play things from the wonderful world of Disney and would have specials where they made their own music videos with Disney clips and stuff. That's better than what is in the line up.
Exactly! 13 Nights of Halloween is just not the same. It doesn't even come close to how it used to be! Remember when 13 Nights of Halloween used to be 13 Days of Halloween? (Like 25 DAYS of Christmas) An entire 13 days dedicated to the best day of the year. They had no problem filling the schedule with classic, family-favorite's back then. But then again, that was back when ABC Family Channel was just Family Channel. Last year, they only played Hocus Pocus twice! Twice! Movies that you mentioned, like "Witch's Night Out" and "The Worst Witch" were the best ones to watch during 13 Days of Halloween! Since they have replaced the greats with non-Halloween related like Batman and Willy Wonka, I resorted to buying them. Yes, I now own all the greats and can watch them instead of tuning into the lack of Halloween specials on 13 Nights of Halloween!
You have so many great movie ideas! I wish they would take them into consideration..i would absolutely love to see the worst witch again!!
Where is everyone seeing the 09 Schedule at? I can't seem to find it
I completely agree! I'm sending an email right now.
I have just looked at the schedule and must say I am truely pissed!!
Excuse my language please.
Edward Scissorhands is the only good addition to the lineup. What is with America's Funniest Home Videos, The Mask, The Goonies, Batman, etc. These shows, although entertaining in their own right, are not even remotely associated with Halloween!!! And what is up with them throwing so many of the good shows away? Especially, The Scariest Places on Earth.
This is totally not fair! They haven't even glanced at any of the suggestions made here! I mean why have a message board if your not going to see into the minds of your most devoted viewers! I'm outraged!!
I sent a very polite (As polite as I could make it) email to this email address: catherine.graves@disney.com Its on the bottom of the new schedule. Maybe if they get enough viewers thoughts they'll change it before we all just rent dvds for Halloween.

I just saw this
. Okay, I have to say that I am happy to see Hocus Pocus added to the line up because I love that movie, but I agree with you both that this line up overall really has a lot to be desired. I too will be e-mailing Ms. Graves and Ms. Prenner at Disney to voice my distaste
.
Let's just hope that they do better for the 25 Days of Christmas!
can you post the schedule?
