Rules of Forums?

Hey everyone! I was just on the 25 Days of Christmas forum and noticed a post made by the ABCFamily team. All I have to say is read it, especially #4 and then the details of it in #3. You'll know what I'm talking about when you see it. I understand that they have to post rules and I agree with almost all of them, but this is kind of unfair. Crying Let's talk it out!!

I think nycscififan is right. I mean, imagine the amount of crazy people that try to sue a company as big as ABC becaues of an idea they think came from them, when you know they have a team of people just to dream up new ideas?

I can't imagine it would mean that you can't suggest a good movie to play for 13 days of Halloween or 25 days of Christmas.

Thanks all, for clearing that up. I must have been having difficulties that day I posted this. I think I just jumped to a conclusion that wasn't very logical. That being said, everything you've said makes a lot of sense. I'm surprised I didn think of it before. Much appreciation!!

The rules are to prevent people from posting NEW, ORIGINAL ideas for shows or movies and then suing Disney/ABC if they happen to make something similar at a later date.

I don't have a problem with the rules. I'm not into fanfiction anyway.

If you are, fanfiction.com is the place where you can write stories and ideas without worrying about being censored. The rules make it clear that this isn't the place for creative writing using their shows and characters.

Those rules don't mean you can't suggest movies for Halloween or request a favorite episode. It means you can't use their characters or suggest storylines for them.

This is kinda funny that I'm the first to respond to my own post, but I wanted to add something. I think I might be a little confused on what they mean by no episode or show suggestions. Do they mean no suggestion on what shows they should play say during The 13 nights of Halloween or 25 Days of Christmas or do they mean no suggestions just for they shows that are on regularly like Greek or Make or Break It. (Smiling Because I can completely understand the second. Maybe its me, but I don't want to get kicked off! Puzzled
