Is the network obsessed with pregnancy?
Posted Thu, 07/09/2009 - 09:06 — THEbest794First Secret Life. Now Labor Pains. What's next? Juno? Knocked Up? Those would be the only good forms of entertainment out of what they are currently airing. However, they wouldn't be as family appropriate

i love secret life...a nd ur totlaly right... and ew if they show knocked up... ew that a gross movie
Live Laugh love.......Peace love and happyness.....☮ ♥ =D

Ricky+Amy+John= perfect family
I completely agree, not only do I agree but I have something to add. The Secret Life... is a show directed to the teenage viewers of ABC Family. Lindsay Lohan's primary audience is also the teenage population of America in general. MTV has a show called 16 and Pregnant that puts a very realistic view on the hardships of having a child, and that's on MTV. I would like to know why a "family" based network is putting out the image that pregnancy at a young age is something they support. Opening the idea of this easy life they give these television characters is so misleading to the youth of this country; which is already over run with teen pregnancies. Futhermore, this risque film is based on lying about a pregnancy to achieve a goal. Let's ask the men in America who have a management position in a company how they would feel if their daughter were to watch this and get the idea that that is a legitimate way to keep their job. Girls, and women, who lie about pregnancies everyday in the real world mess up so many men's lives because of it, and now society is so condoning of this behavior we have movies displaying the situation in a completely nonchalant way with a teen based star with the lead roll. It's sickening and I do not support it at all.

I agree with you whole-heartedly. The "happy ending" approach really isn't all that realistic.

Wow ABC Family, let's get over pregnancy... The Secret Life's acting is worse than 7th Heaven and totally unrealistic; Sophie also includes some pretty horrendous acting and is not to mention plain Bizarre. I am sure this new movie will be funny... but Lindsey Lohan must be desperate because not many stars take a step backward to do a made for TV movie after several big screen hits. Back to pregnancy… everyone is obsessed with it… just recently MSNBC did a feature story on three teen mothers and their experiences. Let’s try to tell girls that this is not the norm. That in reality a man like Ben won’t stand by their side, in fact they’ll usually run. A boy like Ricky most likely won’t get better; he’ll probably molest other children because of what happened to him. Friends won’t be interested in the fact that you’re pregnant; they’ll be talking badly about you.
And so you know this was supposed to be in theaters, that's what Lindsay signed on for. Then it got demoted to being a TV movie. So clearly it will be very good for just that reason! HAHAHAHAHA

ok personally i think that secret life is a awsome show that teaches lessons, labor pains is gunna be good as well more of a comdy plus it will teach you why not to lie to your boss.

Secret Life may teach lessons but that is no excuse for bad acting and bad scripts.
