Posted Wed, 12/31/2008 - 07:46 — future parentI'm just thinking you should change the name of your channel. Looking at all of the devoted fans that you have on the board, it is obvious have support. I'm not even saying that these shows are inappropriate in a gneral format....it is a far cry from some of the smut you show on your mother station. I just think you are miss-representing yourself as a family channel. Maybe you could start a new channel with the shows you have a large following that may not be family oriented.
The goal of ABC Family is to provide progamming for ALL age groups. So-called "Family" networks/shows are really only for children, not familes; because they put on shows that older audiences don't want to watch. Shows like Greek and Kyle XY bring in young adults, but don't retain them because they get boring after a while. There are viewers watching this channel now that never would have even considered watching if it wasn't for that 70's show. The humor never gets old; which is why people have been watching for eleven years, and won't stop watching for years to come. That 70's show is the show they need to draw in and KEEP viewers 17 and older.
I agree. That 70s show doesn't belong on ABC FAMILY. It belongs on FX or Spike or Comedy Central.
