Outlook for a Middleman Season 2 Looks bleak
Posted Mon, 11/10/2008 - 20:38 — syxxgageA recent IO9 interview with Kevin Sorbo and Javier Grillo-Marxuach show some rather unhappy news regarding the future of the Middleman. According to Javi, we shouldn't expect ABC Family to be ordering a new batch of episodes anytime soon.
Here is the link to the interview

In addition to this, our favorite Dub-Dub, Natalie Morales, has taken a staring role in an upcoming Fox sitcom called Boldly Going Nowhere. This is according to her IMDB page
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2295540/
While I'm happy that Natalie's acting talents have landed her more high profile work, this is disappointing news for Middlefans everywhere.
Oh please oh please ABC Family execs, hear our cries and answer our prayers. Bring back the middleman in all of it's middle-glory. We beg of you.

I also think no one has seen FireFly yet,cos it was just pulled off after one successful season. Moreover almost all went insane when it came out on DVD.Do the whole lot you can to publicize the Middleman, but I can bet nothing will happen.

its right in a world that asks for more moronic, tvs actually good shows get pushed back. when dub dub said "you will never find a more reached hive of scum and villainy" it sealed that this show was the greatest ever and that she was one of the hottest girls on tv lol.
We can't give up! We just have to keep hoping that it will be renewed!!

primitiveskin is right. We shouldn't give up hope yet. I wonder if abcfamily reads these forums? If they do; MIDDLEMAN IS NOT STUPID! IT IS THE ONLY FUNNY SHOW IN THIS WHOLE NETWORK! DO NOT TAKE IT AWAY FROM US!
As far back as at least July, during the San Diego Comic-Con, it has been commonly known that the decision to renew the series would factor in DVD sales and, presumably, sales of the show to international TV markets. So, when Javi tells io9 that ABC Family is unlikely to order more episodes any time soon, this really isn’t a piece of shocking, revelatory news! For further confirmation that again, no action has been taken to renew or cancel The Middleman, I would suggest that you look at Javi’s recent entry on his Live Journal middleblog, which states in no uncertain terms, that NO decision has yet been made as to the fate of the show!
Should we be concerned if someone starts talking about how the sets for the show have been broken down? Absolutely not, since it makes perfect sense that the studio owning the soundstage would rather be making money by allowing further TV or movie production to take place, rather than having empty, unused sets occupy that valuable space.
Can an actor appear on two shows at the same time? Yes, an actor can easily appear on different shows if they were NOT produced at the same time. The Middleman is currently not in production, which allows Natalie Morales to work on the Boldly Going Nowhere pilot. However, if you look at the Boldly Going Nowhere IMDb page, you’ll see that there are two actresses listed as playing the part of Ruby, Natalie and Yara Martinez. This could mean one of two things: a) these actresses are actually playing two separate parts; or b) the part of Ruby has been recast, with Natalie or Yara getting the nod. Furthermore, the Boldly Going Nowhere pilot is currently in post-production, and hasn’t even been scheduled to air, which isn’t the case with Brendan Hines’ new series, Lie to Me.
Brendan Hines, who plays the recurring character of Tyler Ford on The Middleman, is a series regular, Eli Loker, on the Fox midseason Tim Roth-vehicle, Lie to Me, premiering January 21, 2009. If Lie to Me is successful, does this mean that Tyler will have to be written out of The Middleman? Not necessarily, because again, The Middleman is not currently in production. However, even if the shows were to be shooting at the same time, the producers of the respective shows may be able to adjust their schedules to allow the same actor to appear on both shows at the same time.
So in conclusion, there really isn’t ANY news about The Middleman being renewed or cancelled. The only recent, relevant news is that the show has been airing in the English-speaking Asian TV markets of Hong Kong, Singapore, and The Philippines, via AXN Beyond, which I believe means that the show has yet to air in the major international TV markets of Canada, the U.K., and Australia.
Some people dream in black-and-white,
And others dream in color.
But when I see you in my sleep,
My dreams are sweet-and-sour.
"which I believe means that the show has yet to air in the major international TV markets of Canada, the U.K., and Australia."
Firstly, you are correct. Secondly, the minute it does air, this "Monty Python madness with an American heart" (seriously, FLYING PIRANHAS THAT TURN PEOPLE INTO ZOMBIES? That's straight out of the Python playbook) should be. The only risk is that by the time it airs, we'll all have "downloaded" the bloody show, because it's that damn good. That said, I will be buying the DVD (part loyalty to the show), plus handing it out as Christmas and Birthday presents.
"And I think it's gonna be a long, long time,
Till touchdown brings me round again to find,
I'm not the man thay think I am at all;
Oh no; I'm the MIDDLEMan!"
If you check the IMDB page for Natalie Morales, you'll see that she's signed onto another series on Fox, "Boldly Going Nowhere".
That's what I said in my original post. I even provided a link to her IMDB page.
No more monologuing, or I'll Swiss-cheese you on principle.
Here's another possible cancellation indicator. I don't know if this is because the holidays are coming or they are just clearing out stock from a canceled show, but all the Tee Shirts have been reduced in price by $10. Although I notice there are now 8gig iPod Nanos that I don't remember being there.
No more monologuing, or I'll Swiss-cheese you on principle.

That's very true. I had never watched ABC Family until The Middleman was on. Most shows don't pick up an instant following so I can't understand why ABC Family wants to let a quality show that people are begging for get away! All the show really needs is some publicity. C'mon ABC Family, don't you read these boards??? Letters, public pleas on the board, emails to you, what else does it take to show that there is interest in this show - bring back The Middleman!!

Has anyone seen Firefly? Because, it too was pulled off the air after one season, and when the show came out on DVD everyone went crazy over it, but listen up cowboys and cowgirls, we can truely influence the outcome by being an overwhelming fan base. Do everything you can to publized the Middleman, and the following link can show you where to view the show.
