Severed Interrodroid Heads
Posted Tue, 09/09/2008 - 05:41 — primitiveskinSpeaking of John Carpenter and Kurt Russell, you know, with all of the severed Interrodroid heads on this show, wouldn't you think that one of them might just sprout legs from the base of its skull, just to skitter away to a dark corner. And then, maybe, there would later be this priceless exchange of dialogue:
Middleman: What is it?
Wendy: I don't know what it is! Whatever it is, it's weird and it's BLEEPED off!
I'm just saying...
Hahahaha! I'm kinda catching the reference. John Carpenter's the big horror novelist I know, but i'll admit most of the references of the show are way over my head.
Which is good though...let's me know i'm not the biggest nerd ever. =P
Off of the top of my head, John Carpenter has been the director on four films that have starred actor Kurt Russell: Escape from New York (which was so masterfully blended with the Mirror, Mirror episode of the original Star Trek TV series in the season finale); its sequel, Escape from L.A.; Big Trouble in Little China (a wacky little fantasy adventure that every Middlefan should sample, since it has the same sensibility as our beloved show); and his remake of The Thing from Another World, John Carpenter's The Thing, to which I am alluding to with the severed head and the exchange of dialogue.
