Agreed, it pissed me off too how he expected he'd be going to birthing classes with her and such. He's too controlling, he was even beginning to show signs of a typical abuser.
Anyway, when Amy's giving birth, like she said, "She'd be exposed to the whole world."
If Ricky's there it won't be as awkward, considering he's already seen her naked. And like Ben's father says, things like going to the doctors appointments and being there when the baby is born is for couples who have been intimate with each other, which Ben and Amy have not, but Ricky and Amy have. And I'll bet Ricky's going to be head over heels when he sees his baby for the first time. Baby's just have that special thing about them, you can really just fall in love with them, especially being there when they're born.
I truly do think that Ricky should be there.
I mean he is the father, and it could be a great experience for him, and also for him to realise even more that all this is real.

I'm a mom, and I gave birth not even six months ago, and I can tell you, I thought I only wanted my husband in there, but when you're in labor, and your in tremendous pain, you cry for your mommy!
