I have no idea why but today, even though I have been feeling 95% OK, every time I breathe in (well, not every time, but for 5~15 minutes every couple hours) I have this sharp stabbing pain in my left lung... I first felt it earlier when I took mail out and it was like 65 degrees out and really windy even for a sunny day so at first I thought it was because I was in the cold weather without a jacket but I've had the same problem since then so maybe that's not it...

Is there some sort of sickness I'm unaware of that I could be catching or is this a sign I'm dying or something? (I'm joking about the last part! )
I hope this is better before tomorrow... that's when I'm supposed to check out the college and apartments in San Fran! Unfortunately I think I'll have to do it some other time...

Aw, I woke up today and I'm still having the pains, they are better now, not as often and not as harsh but still no good for traveling to the bay area... the high there for today is 66 which is kinda cool (of course it may feel warmer due to the humidity, I hope, anyways!

That sounds nasty. But on the bright side it doesn't seem familiar. And I am pretty sure that if it's something dangerous a sharp pain in the lung would be something burned in our memory

By the way downloading is legal in the US as well. It's only uploading that it's legal if memory serves me right.

Pretty sure its illegal to download copyright material. Though in most cases they don't go after those who download it. Mostly because its just a very very grey area. Especially in the case of shows/movies. I mean whats the difference between my friend bringing over his DVD of Paranormal Activty(you know when its released. Oh be sure to look out for 'Unit Seven' in the DVDs credits) and me watching it online or temporarily downloading it onto my PC and deleting it?

There isn't. In both cases I watch the movie free without ever having to pay a dime. In short, while technically it is illegal there is no point in trying to charge anyone with it. Unless of course they are going to charge everyone who has ever shared a DVD with their friends

Thanks! and... uh, ok... what are you referring to though? how I said I couldn't think of a single thing I wanted, how I called ABCF stupid for not gonna give us Kyle XY, me telling Rex I prefer downloading things the legal way, or when I said I wished I could have gotten the video camera a year earlier?

oh, haha, yeah... I'm half afraid to break the law! It's just one positive thing of growing up with a bad influence as a mother, I guess!
But, I did admit not to much farther below to downloadin The Nanny episodes but that's because Itunes doesn't have it and the DVDs are impossible to find, and even so only seasons 1-3 are released!

Honestly, I don't mind that Rex does suggest that, just because one person on a random forum suggests it doesn't mean thousands will choose that method because of him! and who knows, it may be legal in Europe where he's at... plus do you have any idea how many people do it here in the US? just because he does it doesn't make me like him less...

Its not legal in Europe. I believe some website(piratebay maybe) came under attack and its hosted in an European Country. I believe most of the world has agreed to most Copyright laws found in the US(though not exactly sure)

Quick Question.

Whats the difference between me DVRing a whole season of lets say 24 and keeping them on there permentantly and me going online and finding the same episodes to watch? Well outside of having to skip over commercials.

In both cases I can easily access the episode I want anytime I desire. One just happens to be seen on the TV while the other is on the monitor. Unless I am missing something, in both cases neither of the producers are gaining any money.

Am I stealing something or am I just watching something? The reason why its illegal to download such stuff is because of the idea I am denying them their rightful profits. Except in this case I got them both for free and I am viewing them for free.

But lets say I have them recorded on tape(heh how ancient are them?) whats stopping me from taking the tapes over to my buddies house and watching them? Not sure if its legal, but even if it was illegal its not like most people are going to have a fit over it.

But of course you don't have to download them at all. There are plenty of sites that allow you to view the episodes and movies online.

No I am pretty sure it's legal or remains in the gray area where they can't prosecute you in quite a few European countries. And I doubt this will change soon since there is quite a support for downloading. Anyone going against downloaders on mass is committing political suicide

Actually I believe that according to the law you are allowed to make up to two copies or something like that. I am not sure since it's been awhile since I was looking at this issue.Altough this is still a complete violation of your rights since who the hell are they to tell you what to do with your personal property ?

Not 100% sure but don't you have to pay the cable company for the DVR service adding so much each month to the bill? Other than that it would be essentially the same, but by downloading them to the computer would give you slightly more options like putting them from the computer to a DVD or ipod... sure you could to the same with taping it but you'd need to transfer all the tapes to DVDs and it takes more extra steps... and you're right, not much people would have a fit over it but piracy is against the law and making copies could result in a $5,000 fine and possible jail time if caught... Meh its probably right.

Its just they don't go after people for this unless you have thousands of such things on your computer. Though odds are if they have your hard drive your already in trouble as it is.

Though I did read the old FBI warning. Apparently as long as you didn't reproduce it, distribute, or on exhibition(as in putting it on for a public audience) the fine and jail time didn't apply to you.

yeah... I don't get why small parts can's be used for exhibition... it's like music: free advertisement to that source!
I hate that part especially because I love making fandoms for random TV shows/movies and if I get one more copyright thing on my youtube my channel will be suspended!

Thanks! I hope so too! but maybe this is a sign that we should wait a couple weeks and go during Thanksgiving break when we have more time and can stay more than a day!
