we're doing something different
what do we like most about the show? our hopes regarding the future...
Posted Wed, 09/23/2009 - 07:50 — SeshatSince Carter Covington said, that the Makers
really listened to us and cared about our opinion, I thought we could share
our thoughts on the following subjects:
what we like most about the show, our hopes regarding the coming seasonS, and - if there is such a thing - the things that we don't like (that much).
Here is my list:
Like
1. It's fun! - with just the right amount of drama
2. Kat&Patrick (the perfect actors for the roles!) and their fights - fun
3. the Dad (an amazing actor, bringing him back was a brilliant idea) - fun
4. the two auto shop guys, druggie Keith and the perv - fun
5. Kat&Bianca quarrels - fun
So basically: above actors and the FUN
Hoping for
- a lot more of the above
- things to slow down a bit; the pace is too fast at the moment - well, at least for me, because I would like to see a lot more seasons; I think, most of the fans would be happy with a slower pace - as long as we get a little reward
every now and then - if it meant more seasons
- it will air in Hungary soon
Don't like that much
- Cameron: he behaves like a girl, it's just sad...
- the amount of make-up on Ethan Peck's face: he's a manly guy, but because of all that make-up, he just looks like a clown sometimes
e.g.: auto shop, Patrick takes his shirt off - we are melting - says some really nasty things to Kat - still melting, together with Kat
- than pulls an angry face, that just didn't go with his make-up
- melting is over. Because of the make-up, he just looks ridiculous. The sudden change from hot to clown was shocking.
Please, don't misunderstand me, I think he's pure delight for a girl's eyes, but is it really necessary to ruin such a spectacular sight with this?
So, how about you, my dear fellow rabid fans?

I'd like to get more Kat/Pat scenes of course. I'm not quite sure if i'm ready to see them officially date as of yet. It's too soon. But things should be more intimate between them. Am I making any sense? hehe.
I don't want to see either Kat or Pat lose their edge. Nor do I think having overly fluffy and cheesy romantic scenes suits them.
Cameron is a disappointment, I must say. Definitely the one character I wish would go through a drastic change. The movie version was a geek too but he wasn't so...pathetic or boring. I just find it hard to care about him.
I understood what you meant. I think they do need to be a little sweeter with each other. I also think they need longer scenes. The scenes are so short that all they ever have time to do is fight, and while I enjoy their bickering, thats really all you see. It's depressing sometimes.
As for Cameron I fully agree. He's too pathetic. He would make a good friend but anything more is out of the question. And I really don't like the stalker image they gave him at the dance. Slicing someone's tires. Thats scary. They need to seriously change him when the show comes back. PLEASE!!!!
I agree. I'd like to keep the tension. I think an unspoken kinda dating thing would work. They'd hang out, but say they're only friends. And then at some point see who would break down first and want more. They just need to grow. And Yes you make sense!
As for Cameron, I totally agree; the movie version Cameron was kind of dorky, but at least I liked his character. Not so much for the TV Cameron. And it's not the actor. I think it's the way they're making him out to be.
I just have to say that I love the Kat and Patrick thing
. That's my favorite and like someone said the dad and her are the wittiest. But unlike most of you I want to see Cameron and Bianca together. I mean lets assume that there will be more seasons to come, then she could date Joey for a while but ultimately she needs to end up with Cameron. But get rid of michael.
I'd like it if we saw some more BiancaxJoey action. They are so much better for each other than Bianca and Cameron.
Senior Power!! ~Class o' 2010~
Colonel: Latest firing stock. What do you think, Doctor?
Doctor: [wearing a gas mask] Are you my mummy?
Colonel: [annoyed] If you could concentrate...
David Tennant is my Doctor!
Here's a specific one...
I'd like to see Kat show up at Patrick's bedroom window one night. I'd love it if Cameron hacked into the school database for Kat to get his address.
I completely agree with you. I thought it would be great if Kat showed up at his window but what you said about Cameron getting his address would be great!
I would love to see that! I would love to see the scene where Patrick would be asking for Cameron's help... might be interesting to see how cameron reacts
That would be funny!--it's difficult to picture Patrick asking ANYONE for help--still less Camerion!
I like the fact that the characters all seem real and that they all have good chemistry together, not just Kat and Patrick. I also like that the writing is smart and funny. Too many shows are smart or funny, but there aren't that many that are both.
I totally agree with you about the show being smart and funny at the same time, that's the base of my "like" list: Kat and the Dad have the wittiest comments - I simply can't get enough of that.
About "the fact that the characters all seem real" well, not on our side of the ocean...
but it's OK. If I wanted to see reality, I would watch a documentary.
Save the Naked Mole Rats!
What about the characters doesn't seem so real? What's different on your "side of the ocean"? Is it a cultural thing? Does it seem stereotypical American or something? Just curious, not trying to disagree or criticize or anything.
I'm deeply sry, if you misunderstood me. Pls forgive me, in no way have I intended to offend you or criticize your society.
). I wouldn't even call it hierarchy really, just groups of students with similar interests... and due to our different cultures and upbringing, teenagers simply behave very differently in our country. We are a very proud and stubborn little nation - often not in a good way
- so a guy like Cameron is unimaginable to me, that's why his behaviour is very disturbing and bizarre for me.
I only meant, that our class hierarchy is so completely different from yours (e.g. we don't have cheerleaders and jocks at all
The rest of the characters (popular girl, girl who wants to be popular, outsiders...etc.) can be imagined in our country too, but not to the extremes like in the show. In our country the groups mix and talk to each other all the time, they are not really separated.
Still - as I mentioned before - I don't mind. I watch shows because of the fun, great acting, writing...etc. I don't expect them to be realistic, I want them to be entertaining. I mean, can you imagine a realistic sci-fi or fantasy genre show? LOL
I hate reality shows by the way, I've watched only 1 for like 5 mins and got sick of it forever. It's pathetic, when people - who can't even act - put on a show for the cameras and do things out of their character just to get their 15 mins of fame.
If I want some reality I watch F-1, K-1 or channels like NatG or Discovery.
So, on my part it was only meant as a compliment
Save the Naked Mole Rats!
Please, no, no, no, I don't want you to misunderstand. You did not insult or criticize me or Americans or anything. I was just curious as to what the differences were.
A few years ago, I had a intern/student come from London to work with me for a year. I learned then that there were many differences between the US and Europe. She was so surprised that we really did have yellow school buses, and cheerleaders at the football games, and thought it odd we sang the national anthem before sporting events, among other things. I found it so interesting. In some ways I am an ignorant (or uncultured) American and don't realize how different things are in other countries. I was just curious.
Regarding Cameron---his behavior is a little bizarre to us Americans, too!
Ohh, I'm relieved! I hate to hurt anybody's feelings in any way.
That's how I know quite a few things about e.g. the US.
I mean, you have them in so many movies... As far as I know they even have competitions these days. The yellow schoolbus...to think that it's only fiction is like thinking the same about the red double-decker

Curiosity is a very useful quality!
In school we learnt a lot about other countries' history, I've met people from other countries and I watch a lot of films and shows. Through them I can learn about present-day culture and society.
It's funny that your intern/student didn't think, that cheerleading squads exist.
But I understand it in some way, maybe she didn't watch the same films I did.
The national anthem is a must on our sports events and national celebrations too.
You are not in the least ignorant or uncultured for not knowing certain things, simply while I can watch a lot of films made in the US about Americans, there are hardly any Hungarian movies out there, that you could watch for example. (I suppose, there aren't that many Italian, French... etc. movies either, that you could check out in English.)
Oh, and I'm glad to hear about the Cameron thing
Save the Naked Mole Rats!
I was wondering the same thing.
Maybe it's because in Europe we dont have such things like popular guys and girls, at least in Italy it's like this, we dont have cheerleading squad and sport games. the school system is totally different
It took me a few episodes to get into Bianca/Cameron/Chastity, I will admit that. However, I have friends and students that act exactly like each and every one of the regular cast members.
Hmm I agree with your likes... I really like the auto shop guys... Forgot their names!
Brad and Luis right?
Dislikes... I agree about Cameron..... He's a dork in this show. Makes me feel bad for him because he seems like a cool guy in real life. Maybe he'll grow up during the summer so next, next season he'll be more of a man.
Patrick... Yeah I noticed the eyeliner (or what looks like eyeliner) and the fact that he's really white sometimes. Either it's the make-up or....? I mean he's from California right? There's no way he's that white... Not really complaining... I'm just saying.
What I'd like to see- Patrick and friend interactions... that's a given. Hmm I'm really open to anything the writers want to give us so write away!
Oh I want to add... I love the music they have in the first season and I want to hear more awesome music next season.
yes, I agree he is extremely pale! Especially when he takes his shirt off. However a new season is starting...maybe he should take off his shirt many more times, so we have something to compare (strictly for observational purposes of course!)
Hahah... Riiiiight
.... No really though, when he took his shirt off in auto shop it was like... talking, talking, talking, pause in mid-sentence and take shirt off, start talking again... Come to think of it, it was kind of like that in the episode 3... Hm, maybe not.
