we're doing something different

boy meets world critique/discussion

I loved this show! As a child and absolutely fell in love with the characters. That said, I really only "loved" seasons 1 and 2. They were the most realistic. Season 3 is where the show started to go down hill, although it was really seasons 4-7 that were the most disappointing for me. They made Eric's character progressively dumber and less suave. They changed the charming, yet bizarre, nature of Topanga. They also got rid of the original Morgan, and Eric's best friend, and the school badegg Harley, and Minkcus. The students in class were not consistent, for example during season 2 sometimes Topanga is in Mr. Turners class but most of the time she's not. They also didn't keep the characters in Shawns family consistent throughout the show, or Topanga's family either. The chronology of the show also got way off seasons 4 and 5. Season 1 starts with Cory and Shawn in 6th grade, Season 2 they are in 7th grade, yet by Season 5 they are somehow seniors in high school when they should be sophomores. All that aside, I really did love this show and miss it terribly.
