ABC & Disney Join Hulu (That means Greek on Hulu!)

Here's an article discussing Disney's new participation in Hulu and everything that will be available to fans soon. Greek is specifically mentioned (good news for us since ABCFamily.com videos suck). I know links are always removed so I'll just paste the article:

ABC & Disney Join Hulu

by Eric Van Dril on April 30, 2009

in Late Night Shows, Television

In the fantastic Hulu commercials featuring Alec Baldwin and Seth MacFarlane, both TV stars say Hulu is taking over the world.

Hulu won’t take of the world (swine flu has already done that), but Hulu has swiftly become one of the most popular websites in the world (#3, according to the company’s recent press release). After ABC and Disney agreed to give away some of their most popular shows for free on Hulu, it will undoubtedly become the most popular web site in the world because it is adding old and young people (ABC and Disney, respectively) to its 18-34 audience (NBC).

Here are some of the shows that will land on Hulu in the coming weeks (a specific date hasn’t been set, but be sure to check back to Ripcord News for the specifics)

* ABC - “Lost,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Desperate Housewives,” “Ugly Betty,” “Samantha Who?”, “Scrubs,” “Private Practice” and ”Jimmy Kimmel Live”
* ABC Family - The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Greek.
* ABC Daytime - General Hospital and The View.
* Classic ABC - Hope & Faith, Less than Perfect, Commander in Chief, Who Wants To Be a Millionaire and a bunch of Dancing with the Stars seasons.
* Disney - Wizards of Waverly Place and Phineas and Ferb.
* The Chicago Tribune also writes that “Library titles from The Walt Disney Studios and short-form content including webisodes, sneak peeks and episode recaps from ABC Entertainment, ABC Family and SOAPnet” will land on Hulu.

I think we can all agree that Hulu is great. Watching TV online for free totally trumps downloading episodes from The Pirate Bay, but I want HBO to join Hulu by this summer because I want to see the new season of Entourage and Hard Knocks as well. When HBO and Showtime join Hulu to combat Internet piracy, that’s when we will know its business model is sound and hear to stay.
