I was a big Max fan, but I am glad we’re back to Cappie & Casey.....
Posted Mon, 06/29/2009 - 22:12 — mmb612Let me first say that the best kiss ever on this show, *by far*, was between Cappie and Casey when they were playing pool in the pilot episode. That kiss was so hot, steamy, sexy, and the chemistry between the 2 was so evident. Amazing!
But when Max came around, I really liked him and Casey. Yes, Cappie & Casey were destined to be together. But Max was adorable and quirky and so nice to her! Casey deserved that royal treatment. I loved his longer hair (SO CUTE!) and the romantic scenes with Casey were sooo sweet. They had some great scenes in the first set of episodes. I think they sort of ruined Max recently (Chapter 4/last 10 episodes). He really fell flat. They really didn’t develop the relationship at all. I didn’t feel the “warm fuzzies” watching them anymore. 
I just wonder how much of the lack of chemistry was because of what the writers wrote into the script, versus how Spencer and Michael decided to act the scenes/characters, versus maybe just bad chemistry between the actors? Does that make sense?
We all know that Max had to leave eventually. Especially after he started working on Melrose Place. And although I felt bad for Max the night of the finale, the break-up scene wasn’t as heart-wrenching and crushing as I expected.
So we’re back to Cappie & Casey. YAY! I’m looking forward to some major angst next season. Like I said before, they are meant to be. I’m sure they’ll drag it out for a while and that's fine with me. Spencer and Scott have awesome chemistry. I can’t wait! 
I'm pretty sure I read that Max has left CRU for good. The "for good" part I'm iffy on, but I know he's leaving and totally regrets giving up Caltech for a girl that was still in love with her ex-boyfriend.

Exactly. You should never base a huge life decision strictly on someone you've only been going out with for a couple of months. It also makes the other person in the relationship feel really obligated to you so that's something else to think about.
Good advice, it makes me think of my current relationship my bf gave up the opportunity to play college football just to stay with me and it was only nearly a month into our relationship.
I love Casey and Cappie, although was a bit of butthead to her sometimes overall the relationship was cute and I'm so glad that they're hopefully getting back together. On the other hand I was very iffy with Max sometimes i thought he was kind of annoying and others I thought he was sweet, so I'm starting to think maybe Casey will feel wrong or possibly regret breaking up with Max because he gave up Caltech and everything else for her I don't know just putting that out there. Max reminds me of my bf because he also has given up a lot to stay with me but he's no where near max, cause he totally hates math lol anyways I'm excited to see how this breakup is going to play out is Max going to put up a fight for her? or will he target Cappie? cant wait for the new season!!!
I agree, as well, Max was a wonderful character, and I liked that Casey opened herself up to a relationship that was unlikely for her, but no it never had the same level of chemistry that Cappie and Casey had, or even Evan and Casey, it was just something different.
As to the flatness of his romance with Casey in chapter four, I don't think it was a fault of anyone...I think it was a case of a relationship that was fun for a moment, but ultimately fizzled, but because of Max's gung-ho commitment to Casey, it was pushed beyond it's natural life. I liked that, though, too, because it happens, you have these relationships that should fit, but somehow don't. Casey spent a good part of her relationship energies trying to get them to fit with each other.
Chemistry isn’t anything that can really be developed or lost in the context of two actors, I think you either have it or you don’t – it’s that ephemeral thing that you hope for but can’t plan on. SMF and Spencer definitely have that “thing” and it’s clear that the Casey/Cappie relationship is the end game…I’m looking forward to where they push all the relationships next year, but this one in particular is going to be interesting, since the ball is most definitely in Cappie’s court.

I totally agree. I loved Max as an in between boyfriend, you know what i mean? I liked him but I didn't want them to end up together. To me, Max got really annoying and I kept thinking Casey and Max you need some kind of excitement, but they never found any together and Casey found some excitement with the common point of all Casey love triangles...Cappie. They are fun and exciting together.
I loved Max!! I feel sad for him because his heart was already broken b4, the kind of heartbreak the hard to jump back from. I would've rather seen him break up with Casey than Casey break up with him.

Okay I am not going to lie I am a tad bit late on the season finale, considering I saw it for the first time this week. Not to say I am not a HUGE fan, cause I am, but a girl is just a tad bit busy. Anways I have been wanting to talk about the season finale for days now its all I can think about! I am beyond happy that her and Max broke up, he was way to committed and fast with Casey. After only like a month of dating he thought he should give her his letters? Find that a little odd, and they were not meant to be! I am beyond and hoping that Cappie goes after Casey! He has been in love with her for the longest time and has never given up on her, and she finally realizes how much she loves him too!
All season I have been hoping for them to get back together, because you can just tell their chemistry together is shown that they are meant to be. I am counting down the days until the series comes back on August 30, which is basically the end of my summer. So if I am rushing my summer because of this show I so am hoping that I do not be disappointed by his decision on the premire of the season! I really hope I am not let down, cause lets face it Casey is just going to keep dumping every guy that comes her way because she is meant to be together with Cappie!
