Posted Sat, 09/13/2008 - 09:11 — Ambergirl2008I despise ABCFamily for trying to restrict us. We are a tight knit group, definitely, the kxyforum family. Newbies never stay longer than a day, but we're here! We're always here. So telling us we can't do anything other than talk about the show is absolute bull.
Show suggestions are what keep us entertained throughout this god-awful hiatus! Fanfiction too! Solicitation...wtf? It's their fault we have to wait so long, and now they want us to just discuss what happened back in march? Are they out of their minds? And dear Danielle, you do know that you will have your hands full with me and my friends, right? We loved the old forum, and we plan to make this as similar as possible to our old home.
So yeah- if I want to post about my crappy life, I'll do that. If I want to post what I want to see in a show, via a "I love Kessi" thread or just a plain old fanfiction, and you know why? Because this is a Kyle XY forum and threads like that are related to the show. And To Dawn, NYC, and all the other self-appointed "forum police" let me tell you this. I'll put OT and FF for things that are off-topic and fanfiction, because that is what a good forum member does. But I will not put up with your holier-than-thou attitude. If I forget to put OT, I will not tolerate you screaming "OT! OT! DANIELLE BLOCK HER! BLOCK HER! SHE MADE A MISTAKE!"
Yeah, acting like Nazi's is never a good idea.

The rules are not that bad. In fact they make a lot of sense. And nobody is forbidding you to talk about your life. Just anythibg identifiable.
As for fanfiction this is a legal issue. You can try asking the moderators aroudn here if you can post fanfiction with a disclaimer so that there is no legal problems
As for the people who think they run the forum well there are not really a problem. Especially not anymore. Now with the new rules you can report them immediatly for spamming.
Sometimes your shallowness is so thorough, it's almost like depth.

There is no more freedom on this forum... They suck... Why do we have to only be talking about what happened in June on Kyle XY? grrr... I hate the new rules...
We can't even post stuff that we'd like to see happening on the show, although we're just saying it for fun, not because we absolutely want to see it happen.
And the stuff with keeping everything on topic [filtered word] even more. Why have that? I mean, honestly, we need somewhere to vent about our frustrations(especially with ABC Family).
These rules make no sense and I hate them.
Read again. There are no rules agaisnt posting off topic(unless you are derailign someones thread aka spamming which is soemthign we really need). There is an additional guideline saying so please don't dilute the focus by posting a ton of off-topic stuff.
Secondly look at the phrasing Posting show or episode suggestions My guess based on this phrasing combined with the fact that threads like Kyle's future or I'd like to see are still here is that as long as it is pure specualtion on your part instead of an outright sugestion it's not that bad. Since i imagine that a direct sugestion might have some small legal problems.
So the rules do make a lot of sense and they are not as harsh as it seems

As you can plainly see, we have plenty of OT stuff on here.
I think Danielle said as long as it said OT it was OK. They set the rules and they can come and enforce it when they want to but right now, they're not enforcing the ONLY ON TOPIC rule. Otherwise we'd have like a dozen threads on here and that's all...which is is not true, if you look around...we have pages of OT stuff!

I know, the new rules suck, but there's not much we can do,but create our own forum and ditch the ABC Family one. ABC Family [filtered word]... I mean, not only are they keeping us waiting until January to see Kyle XY Season3, but they are also not giving us any clues and making up some very messed up rules...They only care about the things that earn them money and the forum and ARG are not so obviously they don't even try to make us the fans happy by updating these stuff and making a more lax set of rules. Other tv channels know that a happy fan is better than an angry one that's dissing them everywhere. So my suggestion to all the ABC Family executives is to make us, the fans happy if they don't want all the teens to hate it(we can totally spread the word around on how much ABC Family [filtered word]). Plus the only show on their channel worth watching is Kyle XY, the rest are crap(in my opinion).
Chill out girl--peace!! I feel your pain, but even though this new forum is disapointing to most, it's still us--your forum family still lives on here... We have to try and make the best of the situation and live with it...
