I am a conservative, but I am also a strong environmentalist (which tends to be liberal so it goes to show, no one can be pegged exactly. Smile.) But in general my philosophy and such is conservative.

A researched more. There are a few reasons. 1) People from the dark side keep attacking her children. And some have been very cruel to her disabled son. 2)People who fear her keep making trouble and she is wasting too much time with these idiots that she felt it was not fair to the Alaskan people. She was focusing on frivolous law suits and stuff. All came clean, but she feels it is not just to the people who voted for her. Man, if the other side picked on Obama's familiy the way she has been attacked, heads would roll!

Well I, for one, am completely CHEERING that she's stepping down. UNFORTUNATELY, I know she *still* won't be a mom to her kids. She's got too much politician in her to stay down and be what she set herself up to be. Her son did not ASK to be born or to be abandoned by his mother for some idiot politics game but that's what she did...don't give me that, but other's take good care of him bs...NO ONE can replace a mother. A real mother.
You admire her so much for being a strong woman, fine, great!! More power to you....but she's the suckiest mother I've seen in a LONG time and for that I have no respect for her at all.
As for the Obama comment you made...let sleeping dogs lie, Dawn. It won't be long before there's a riot for all those who were DUPED into voting for the man...if I can even call him that.
I washed my hands of it all at the election booth. I didn't and wouldn't have voted for Palin, even if I werein Alaska. I didn't vote for the sheep herders from the same cloth only different names.
To play what if? Would we be worse off if McCain had won? Depends... would war on your tail be worse than losing money? Hell if I know... All I know is we're all f-ed. I knew that then and I know it now. Either candidate would have brought us hell. Four more years of insanity... I STILL hope people wake up!

It is too bad it is so hard to get a really good man in office. I at first voted for Romney. He is an international businesman and would have had a far better shot at fixing finacial woes.

You are correct. Sarah is doing this because, in her opinion, she can't devote herself to the task she was elected to perform. So she won't be a lame duck and she will do what is best for Alaska. I applaud her. It must have been a really hard decision to make.
Of course, those from the left side are tee-heeing, but she is strong. I would not be surprised if we see more of her in the future. Those who attacked her do not realize that she was a strong hope for the survival of our country.

We were winning in the polls, until Lee Harvey Oswald sabotaged our efforts.
I have been a libertarian Originalist Conservative for a long time.

When you have time, go check out some developing news on drudgereport dot com, titled "ABC Turns Programming Over to Obama; News to be Anchored From Inside the White House." Don't panic! It's (supposedly) a one-time event June 24th to push his healthcare plan, but without dissenting views from the Republicans. I hope this doesn't become a habit, but I'm concerned.

I won't have an opinion until I check this out (after I get home from work) but on the outset I am a little concerned (little?) about the fact that we won't have a dissenting view? How can that possibly go over?
It goes over because this administration and Hollywood have their hands in each other's pockets. It is making me think of what is happening in Iran now. People are protesting, but they are getting shot. So far we only get verbally shot down.

It is scary. They scarier thing is people are not seeing this! Do you know the story of the frog slowly boiling to death adn not noticing. That is what is happening to this country. Luckily some notice the "man turning up the heat" and hop out in time and try to warn others. The sad thing that others sit there letting the water boil. If you do not get the analogy, let me know and I will explain about the frog.

That is a perfect analogy! People who rely on the mainstream media for their news are totally in the dark (or prefer to be). Journalistic ethics seem to be a thing of the past. There are still some real journalists out there, but you have to seek them out. I turn to several (alternative to MSM) sources for the news and I'm amazed at the difference in coverage. I guess I should be used to the extreme bias by now, but when I occasionally check the major networks, just to see what they're saying, my jaw drops! It IS scary how people are not seeing this. Even if I didn't have other news sources, I think (or hope) I would realize something "just ain't right here."

How very true. I guess the age of "Live and let live" is over, it is so radical in the real world, that I'm glad to be elderly, but I worry about the young ones facing tomorrow. I'm for the most part a moderate person, with a broad view of the world (the reality of world events truly frighten me). Does that make me Conservative? I always just considered myself a country girl with big city ideas. lol

They do not see it. And when I try to tell them there is another side, the radical ones tell me I AM looking at propoganda. It is sad and scary. I feel like I am standing in a road warning people, "the bridge is out" and they just laugh and pass by. I also look at news from many sources and am appaled when I see stories that are not coming out. One time I heard a story on the radio THREE days before the knowledge got so "loud" that the network channels finally reported that.

For example: I am against abortion but think we still need the choice so we don't have people die unnecessarily. I believe strongly in the sanctity of marriage but believe it should be for EVERYONE not just a man and woman. I believe all life is sacred but have a HUGELY hard time with certain types of people, ie. Pedophiles, rapists, poachers, etc. and wouldn't cry if they died. I have a LOT of the christian beliefs in me but I don't like the religion at all!
So basically yeah, what I said, a conservative with liberal views. Am I in or out? And ha, I get harassed anyway just for being me... the girl with the heart of gold but iron fist (sometimes.)

who was known for terrorizing his congregation with
his fire n brimstone threatening sermons.
He died from a heart attack and was revived.
He said: "I was surprized that God was not interested in my theology."

I am more environmental and animal oriented than I am conservative when it comes to humans... if that made sense. 
And David, I have told several people that I got thrown out of hell because I wouldn't listen to Satan. So I guess that sermon dude and I have a bit in common. lol.

I guess I could be worse, couldn't I? Actually he and I had some views that were the same, I just can't think of them right now. One thing though, I would pay attention to my kids a little better... Oh that's right... I DO... Last I heard one of his kids was into some serious mischief... Then again, maybe that's just politician kids in general... The Bush sisters were in trouble, Palin's daughter, McCain's...etc etc. No doubt Obama's too once they get older...
