OT: Who misses the old forum?
Posted Sun, 10/12/2008 - 18:10 — bop51992I miss it so much right now. Everything about it. The format, the blue and purple, only 10 threads on a page, the people, everything. I hate how everything changed just by moving forums. It's not the same. I'm going through really hard times right now and I miss having the forum to come to for help. Anybody else miss it?

The old forum was a home for a family that I loved and loathed. There were several rooms...there was a room for girly teenybopper squealers, one for politics, one for the actual show, one for the adults. I had the forum family and it's gone now; we've been dumped into a much uglier mansion.
I think, therefore I am.

DUDE!!! I've had like 3 rants in the last week or so. LOL! It wasn't like I posted one every day in the old forum!
I don't miss the drama, I can say that much...but for these old eyes, I liked the old format WAY better. I HATE white!!

I miss it. I've been lurking since we switched and I gotta say from an outside perspective the forum dynamic has definitely changed.

Still me, just got fed up. There are so many anti Christian things on here that I am basically more and more not too interested in this place. I come, to help keep it going, but the temptation is to just chuck it all.

Dawn, you still seem to think everyone that didn't like this forum wasn't good with change.
You can't understand that people have opinions, and believe it or not, not all of ours agree with yours.
You may love the new look of this forum, others may hate the look. Does not have anything to do with our ability to deal with change.
And no, I am not insulting you so please don't make a new version of this thread saying everyone who doesn't like you should just leave you alone. (I agree with that, but I DO like you. I just don't like how you think about this whole change new forum thingy)

But my comment does seem a little harsh.
I was a grumpy when I wrote it.
But I still think the same. I still miss the old forum, and even though I hate change, I honestly prefer the old one. I like the new features, but not the new look.
That would be so cool to have avatars on the old forum. Would look awesome.

It is ok KA. I am used to that kind of stuff from people on here and frequently from those I have supported in the past. It is okay, I know you were upset about the new forum. It is nice to see you have started to like it, like with the pics and all.

This new forum is okay.
I still rather have the old one. Even if that does mean no Bob.
I am not saying this one completely [filtered word] but still...
But I was just trying to point out (and sorry if it wasn't put in the nicest way) that me not liking it has nothing to do with how I deal with change. Sorry Dawn. Didn't mean to be mean to you. Hope you know I wouldn't want you to be hurt because of me. I wouldn't want you to be hurt by anyone actually.

I know KA. We are all good. The situation got to you and you snapped. The thing is you made up. We are fine. And, maybe in your case the change was no big deal. I know many though who said outright they did not like change.

I miss the visual aspects of the old forum yes. I don't miss the drama! I'm glad that so far it's been quiet.
I don't know why you feel you can't talk to us anymore...we're still here...we still have ears...at least, I do.

It did. I think that is because too many people bailed. If everyone had just moved over and worked things out, the group dynamic would have remained essentially the same.
That is another reason I think. But I noticed some people had left BEFORE the forum migration. I think that was just because lives got in the way, as did the fact that there wasn't anything KXY related to bring us together.

Many just freaked out and feared changen and refused to give it a chance. This is really a great forum. I could not believe how much resistance to change happened.
