we're doing something different

ABC Family: batman642 Creating Our Own Lincoln Heights

Creating Our Own Lincoln Heights

I heard alot about not posting anymore fan fiction and I really think its unfair for them to do that. But I do agree with americana we should have our very own LH board so we can post our fanfiction and we don't have to worry about being banned or people deleting our posts.

You're welcome. Our Kyle XY fanfiction authors were none too happy with new forums because of the enforcement of the fanfiction policies. The rules have always been there in the Terms of Use agreement we all validated when we signed up for the site. Most of the authors ignored them and posted anyway. The old boards were hard to maintain, so the mods couldn't enforce very easily. I'm guessing it's easier on this board since I've lost a few posts and threads already.

I haven't looked at this site's terms of use policy, but the old one said that anything and everything you post belongs to them and you will receive no compensation in any form.

I wonder if there's a fan fiction "release" you could create/"sign" as part of your membership that would win over the legal eagles?
(It's really not the mods fault - they just have to enforce the rules. The lawyers are the ones worried about plagiarism and theft of concept suits.)

Good luck either way.

Yeah it will definitely be right after season 3 ends.

Have you considered posting them on a fan fiction site? Run an internet search on those two words - there are several available, most are free. Other people use a blog or online journal. That puts it more under your control; several of you could set one up to share.

It's a better process than posting on a message board because you can enlist others to be readers/critics/editors, so it's a cooperative effort.

People have it easy today - when I wrote Lord of the Rings fan fiction, I had to do it longhand on loose leaf, lol. (The illustrations were lovely, thank you!)
