But, what happens after nationals?
Posted Sun, 08/30/2009 - 01:16 — kelsgym3Awhile ago, I made a post wondering what would happen after nationals and I was critical of the way they built up all of the bitchy competitiveness amongst the girls, but I've since changed that opinion, because it'd be awesome to have Kelly Parker and some of the Rock girls be on a team together, wouldn't it? Wouldn't it be a source of most excellent drama, if Lauren were stuck in a hotel room halfway around the world with Kelly Parker?
But, really, what happens now that nationals is over?
From what they've said on the show, the Olympics aren't till 2012, so what are they going to do next season? Are they going to train for next year's nationals all over again? Wouldn't that be a little anti-climactic and repetitive? How will they hold the audience's attention next season?
As the show moves along, I think the stakes should keep going up. So next season, I hope to see them move along to international competitions, and I hope that they spend next season training for Worlds.
i wonder the same thing cause thats really seemed like the big thing this season; national nationals nationals.i hope to see more of Razor next season & Leo.

Nationals doesn't have to be 2009. The Olympics could be later in the year or the next year.
There were three of the ROCK's girls and Kelly Parker on the team. I think Payson recovers, one of the other two girls - the unknowns - gets hurt and Payson takes her place.

How do you know this? Have spoilers been posted? I don't think they'll be focusing too much on Carter anymore. And since the Olympics are 3 years away (according to Make It Or Break It's timeline), they'll need to be training for other meets before then, because 3 years are a pretty long time to go without another major competition!
I think some of those are givens. Not to mention a Leo-Emily-Damon love triangle, with Damon gone and Leo in. Payson will not do gymnastics again; it'd be pointless. They can focus on her recovery. Not to mention that Rock guy (whose name escapes me). Carter will definitely be there. There's so much story there! And Becca Keeler. I see big things there.
As for competitions, in the first episode, Lauren says she may do one more nationals, but Kaylie and Payson insist that this will be their last. So maybe Lauren and Emily will go back to nationals (perhaps with Becca?) and they'll come up for something else for Kaylie. But I doubt "nationals" will be the focus (ditto for worlds! I think we'll show up post-worlds). There'll be something else. I assume we'll be there with 2.5 years to the Olympics. When is the US team selected? That tells us something, too.
