Disappointed show
Posted Sat, 09/05/2009 - 11:54 — loriann29My family had enjoyed watching Ruby & The Rockits since the first show. If we can't watch it together we DVR it so we can later. We watched the show where they were picking a new bass player for their band. Ruby had a crush on the guy. We were fully enjoying the show when we were caught off guard by the language. The word [filtered word] was used. I realize that this is on all mainstream channels and no big deal to many people. However, what we have enjoyed about this show it that it had clean language and clean storylines. I know all of us (me, husband, son (13) and daughter(9)) were shocked. We totally didn't see that coming. On top of it the bass player was gay. We never have had any issues with a person's sexual orientation. However, I don't think this show needs to go there to be funny, to pull a joke, to make the show good. It was very disappointing to us. I hope that future shows will return to the clean language and clean storylines.
Unless more viewers watched the show and the ratings were high, sponsors would not care and that is why the show was canceled. JCP makes money off of the other ABC Family shows that are getting good ratings.
The Ruby boards were so non-active while the show was on - funny now the show is canceled 'fans' suddenly come running to post here. Too little too late! Move on! I'm sure the cast has to their projects. You don't see the actors themselves gathering to challenge the network. They are getting on with their lives. You are more upset than THEY are I am sure.
You are right about the lack of activity on the Ruby boards. There were about 200 posts TOTAL prior to the cancellation. Now we're up to 300 because suddenly everyone is interested in the show. Whoo hoo.........let's party! So sad. Compare those numbers to the other new shows, Make it or Break it has 2077 posts (10 times as many), or 10 Things which has 6530 posts (30 times as many).
To be fair, people only watch make it or break it becuz the girls on the show wear -- slutty-- clothes and the guys are shirtless and 10 things is popular becuz it's based of a old movie and ruby, doent have that many post becuz NOT EVERYBODY OWNS A COMPUTER plus most of the posts for make it or break it is talkling about how much the show [filtered word]--

"Your ads point to "Ruby's distinct style". Maybe J.C. Penny could take a bigger role in the show. Supply her wardrobe and let it be known that you do? Expand the role of her friends and attire them also?
I have a strong feeling that J.C. Pennys has benefited from sponsoring "Ruby" and that you would continue to should the show be saved."

I don't think ABC Family will care if you "hate" them. The show is cancelled. Period.
I've asked you nicely once to stop. Now I'm really irritated. Why bother wasting your life and going on a board to make negative comments and put people down? Nobody likes your bad attitude. You can keep trying to persuade people that we can't bring Ruby back, but you're fanning the flame for me, and now I just want to prove you wrong even more.
Please stop coming on to a board of a show that you don't care about. I really don't see what you're gaining from this.

Also last time I checked the forums for all the shows were open to BOTH positive and negative comments so get over it if someone says a bad thing about this show, they're probably right. The show is canceled end of story because there weren't enough ratings for the show to begin with, which is not surprising because everything from the acting to the show was horrible, and it was a JOKE that the girl actually thought she could sing cause she sounded like a dying screeching balloon.

Rubbing it in that my favorite show "Make It or Break It" DID get renewed and is coming back!
I speak the truth. I'm trying to get everyone else to realize their mistakes. Too bad you're wasting you're time on a false hope. But go for it!
Wow, you're really a beach, how would you feel if make it or break it was going to be canceled and you were trying to save and I was like make it or break it scks it deserves to be canceled (which is true) I know your're probably gonna reply back saying something mean and im gonna en up being mad again but remember one day it's gonna come back to haunt you and youll be sorry I know it
