Rick Nelson isnt even ALIVE anymore....

Ricky Nelson's song "Went to a Garden Party" was written about soemthing that happened to him in real-life.

In 1972, he performed at an Oldies show in Madison Square Garden, a huge concert and sports event venue in midtown Manhattan. The audience didn't recognize him because he had changed his appearance and sound dramatically. He played "Peggy Sue" and a few of his other hits, then started playing some of his then-new songs and they went over like a lead balloon.

The audience started booing. Wikipedia says that there was some police action in the audience that attracted the boos, but Ricky Nelson took it to mean that they didn't like his songs and was so turned off by the concert that he wrote a song about it later on that became a hit! lol

May he rest in peace.

He was the first person I heard on a transistor radio, I was like in the fourth grade. Just a "few" years ago.
(music) Many Polynesian babies over the sea, I remember the night when we walked (danced) on the sands of Waikiki, and I held you oh so tight. Ou I'm a traveling man, Oh I'm a traveling man, Ya I'm a traveling man and made a lot of stops all over the world.

And it took a bit to remember that much from my poor old brain cells. But, your right, he was a looker, and his music was very popular. I watched Ozzie and Harriet as a child. Life was so simple back then.
