Why are all you guys hating on Ben ? I mean hes nice! I would love to have a boy friend like him hes always wanting to help, sure he makes other peoples problems his but it could be good ! neno_beans, personally, I disagree. Why shouldn't the guy--Ricky--have a say? It's THEIR baby, not strictly Amy's. Just because she has to be the one to physically carry the burden doesn't mean the baby is solely hers. If Ricky wants to take part, kudos for him.

SpiritedOne, please be a little less spirited. Everyone's entitled to his or her own opinion.
My take on this episode:
*Ben, it’s not your baby, so butt out! Don't give Amy grief about her decisions (though I disagree that changing scenery helps anything), and don't try to persuade her because of your own neediness.
*Ashley is back to her old self...
*Yes, technically, Amy’s right; Ashley is NOT using condoms because she's a girl. Their conversation was strangely worded.
*Nice George-Ricky run-in, but how can George explain his being there?
*Ricky, no matter how disgusting he may be inside, DOES have a say.
*Why does Amy get stared at at school when Adrian doesn't get stared at? The girl who made one mistake and was unlucky enough to get pregnant the first time deserves more ridicule than the girl who sleeps around and is lucky enough to not have gotten pregnant thus far? I know, logic like this violates the rules of what makes good high school gossip.
*Grace is so naïve!
*Adrian clearly--CLEARLY--loves the desk, but I'd be like her on the outside. I wouldn’t want anything from my mom’s partner who’s cheating on his wife, either.
*Alice and all her stats…
*Gosh, Alice and Henry think they’ll be together forever, too? What ever happened to our parents' way of thinking: "I really like you and care about you, but let's just see where this goes."
*At least Ricky is stepping up now.
*Ben, for the last time, this is not about YOU. Your teenage perception of love has to take backseat to a pregnancy, believe it or not.
*Hey, Ben is sitting in the grass! Bravo. Maybe he is manning up (or not).
*Amy, what about "Ricky is the father of your child" don’t you understand? If we think really impossibly opposite, what if guys were the ones to get pregnant? Wouldn’t we girls want to have a say?
*Yes, Ricky is a player, but in the specific case of how Amy and Ricky had sex, both were consensual. Yeah, Ricky knew what he was doing and probably knew Amy didn’t and that she’d regret it later, and yet he didn’t stop, but let’s be realistic. Not all the blame and responsibility should fall on the guy. Amy could have spoken up, too. They’re equally to blame and thus both equally responsible for the baby, AND equally have a say, even if Amy is the one who has to carry the physical burden and deliver the child. It's not fair for girls to be so embarrassed by their sexual mistakes that they shove the guy out of it as though he took no part in it--or when they assume the guy won't WANT to take any part in it.

like soo many other people i completely agree, Ben is unrealistic, crazy, and a bit creepy. Why doesn't anyone ask these kids why they think marriage would solve the whole "i'm having a baby at 15" situation? Really, what good would marrying a boy you've known for maybe a few months at 15 do...oh and not to mention while you're pregnant with another guys baby? lol the shows pretty ridic but provides decent entertainment

What makes me mad about this show is how Amy always cares about what people think and is irresponsible. She always complains and needs to woman-up. What also makes me mad is how they always talk about Grace's Christianity and like " that Christian girl." Almost everyone in the world is Christian and nobody talks about that. If she was some other religion not as common then that might be plausible. All the people who are like " I'm on team Ricky!" Well it doesn't matter. That is the writers problem and it's not real.

I like the show alot its very entertaining and completely unreealistic but thats what makes great tv. I think everyone should stop pressuring Amy because at the end of the day its her body and her decision nobody else has the right to tell her what to do and that includes Ricky who is use the baby to get at Grace Bowman which is just f***ing wrong.

Maybe it depends on where you live....but where I'm from, this seems very common. Girls getting pregnant right and left [Amy] people hooking up [Adrienne & Ricky && Jack] and breaking up [Grace & Jack] for the stupidest reasons and saying alot of stuff that they don't mean just because they really "LIKE" someone [Ben] & men just running out on their wife and family at completely the WORST time [Amy's Dad]. I think this show is very realistic especially if they live on the east coast of the US or Canada.

I swear to god, if I see another "OMG ricky is sooooooo hot omg I wanna marry ricky" comment I'll vomit. IF you have something intelligent to say, then say it. Despite his "miraculous" and overly romanticized recovery from being a selfish, uncaring jack***, to this guy who appears to be tripping over himself to "be involved", he is what he is. he can change his behavior,but the fact remains that he doesn't care about anyone other than himself.
And what is it with all these kids throwing out "I love you, I wanna marry you"'s like they're going out of style? This isn't anything like real life. Yes, Ben is obsessive because he is not a character based on anything real. Many of his sentiments are quite real, but meeting a girl and suddenly deciding that he wants to marry her and spend the rest of his life with her ( despite the fact that this is his first relationship). I'm sorry, just a few bones I have to pick with this show.

You have to understand that when writing a series like this, it needs to be of a decent length, but it can't be too much of the same. It would not be entertaining for you to watch through 25 episodes named... "Date 1" "Date 2" "Date 3" It's not realistic for them to fall in love after the first date, but it CAN happen, and this IS Tv.

First I kinda became hooked on this show..though a bit cheesie and sex centered..I dont like Ben..hes obessive. And this is kinda unrealistic of what happens when a very young teen gets pregnant..a 15 year old guy is VERY VERY unlikely to stick around and acctually wanna take care of the baby..ESPECIALLY when its not his. And neither of them are ready for marriage..and Second. If Rickie is willing to step up and take responsibility they should encourage him, and not push him away because ifs very very rare for the father of a baby in a pregnancy of young teen.

I love this episode! However, I dislike Ricky and Amy's dad because they can't make up their minds about anything, or control their anger. I also don't like how Ricky is all of a sudden wanting to become a part of this baby's life. I think Ben and Amy should take care of their baby 100% without Ricky. He probably won't even need to pay for child support or anything like that because Ben has enough cash. But this is totally up to Amy and her family. Can't wait for the next episode, let alone the next season!
